I really dont think it will work, but I have never tried it. Most recipes use a latex paint. Maybe mix up a small batch and do a test run.

No! Chalk paint is definitely not oil based. Try Emulsion with plaster of paris - maybe or Talc powder (French chalk)?

No you can't! Chalk paint is not oil based. You need to use latex paint-preferably flat latex paint.

No you need to use either acrylic paint or latex paint. I think this is the best recipe for chalk paint.

Mix:

• 1 Tablespoon of water with 2-1/2 teaspoons of Calcium Carbonate Powder in a bowl. Mix to a smooth consistency.
• Add the entire contents of the 2 oz. craft paint bottle into the bowl and mix it well into the water and CCP mixture. Stir until smooth.

Hi! I honestly don't think it will give you the same results. Oil based paint has many uses, but, don't think your method will work. Good luck and stay safe!

Hello Noc... I don't think it's a good iea to use oil paint because it will be almost impossible to remove once it dries, and i don't this oil paint has the proper texture for it. That being said, here is a link with 3 ways to make your own chalk paint

Why not try it using small amounts, paint and see how it turns out? Then sahre with other if you are successful.
