Up-Cycling an Inexpensive Bread Box
I bought a bamboo bread box from Grocery Outlet for 9.99. Since I am into painting my kitchen and dining area, I decided to paint it to match. I love all things nature so used a tree stencil I bought from Amazon.com. The tree ended and knowing I would bugger up the effort if I tried to extend it, I added a word. "Bread" might have been nice, but I didn't have that stencil.

I also made my own chalk paint using 6 Tbls of Plaster of Paris to two Tbls of water mixed well and then blended into 4 cups of paint. I also took Minwax's Dark finishing wax to soften the edges of the tree while hitting the edges of the box a bit to give the piece some character.
