it is very hard to decide to what you want to do to make your powder room/ bathroom looks better, fancier in a easy way and yet in a small budget. For me for example, I didn’t want to change my entire vanity to upgrade my bathroom. I thought about giving a new look just by giving the walls a fresh paint, changing the old fashion pharmacy cabinet, by a chic mirror, changing the light and hang some shelves for a modern look. I ended by changing the decayed faucet by just a cheap one. with this small and in budget changes I feel that my whole bathroom looked the way I want it to be.

my powder room is a laundry room also. The laundry side was updated last year, click in the link If you want to check it out.

The mirror was very small and the cabinet was good for storage but took up lots of space. Besides that, the dark color made the space looks smaller and darker.

Preparing the walls is very important. Don’t skip the Patching and smoothing steps.

I decided to paint the wall behind the sink and toilet white and paint the rest of the walls light gray.

The choice of the mirror is very important. Try to pick a cool one. Home goods, Ross, or hobby lobby has a wide range of unique mirrors…

  1. I saw this cool geometrical mirror online and desired to make it a focal point in my bathroom. A focal point is an object you display in a space to drag all the attention to it.
  2. I replaced the light with a simple modern light to match my mirror. I saw the light on Amazon, new for $80 and used in good condition for $40. So no doubt, I took the used one, which is practically was a new one lol!!!
  3. to make the bathroom looks spacious, I replaced the pharmacy cabinet that was behind the toilet by three floating shelves.

I picked the color of the shelves in vintage wood look to match the gold mirror.

with some little organization sense, I tried to organize all the items that were in the pharmacy cabinet to fit under the sink and on the shelves.

I Personalized the shelves with some greenery and funny quotes and that’s set.

I'm sure I would have found that light fixture blocking the mirror space the way it was to be very frustrating.

The new light fixture you chose not only illuminates the whole corner, but makes the space seem larger due to its sleek shape.
