What kind of bed should I get for my bedroom?
I’ve been searching for a king size platform bed for my room for ages. I can’t find anything within my budget of 1k. I’m going for a clean, natural, modern look. I have a window on the wall that’s 70 inches from the floor

-does the headboard have to be tall to cover most of the wall under the window?
-should I get an all wood bed or mix of wood and upholstered?
-if I get upholstered should it be tufted or plain?

Hello Faddu, there are so many choices available in modern design. Below is a link showing some ideas. Modern means to me means very simple, tailored, with no ruffles or much clutter as far as accessories. Given that I'd choose a very tailored headboard in a simple style with no tufting, if upholstered. A very tailored coverlet that can be tucked/folded at the corners to create a very clean look would be great. Very clean lines for the night stands and lamps. They can be sophisticated with shiny finishes such as mirrored or crystal but in a modern style. For a relaxing feel you could go with a monochromatic color selection.

What about a metal bed?
You should pick what you want and like. I would not cover the window with a headboard but you could put a shade or blind to keep the light out. You could build your own platform bed and then buy a mattress it would save you a lot of money
here is how to do that

If you wanted to build your own there are tons of plans here on Hometalk! Then you'll get exactly what you want. https://www.hometalk.com/search/all?filter=platform%20bed%20
Actually Amazon sells bed frames that DO NOT require box springs. Go to their site, use their search bar and there are lots of results. But read the customer reviews first. There is at least one that has problems with holding its shape. So make an informed decision.
I have one of those frames and love it. I have 14 inches of storage room under my bed now as compared to only 7 inches when I used a box spring.

How about a metal white frame bed with head and footboard fancy
You can use a wall hangin as a head board like in this post I did https://www.simplenaturedecorblog.com/3-simple-ways-to-design-a-moroccan-inspired-bedroom/
Wayfair has lots of king platform beds below $1k,,,,, https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/sb1/king-size-platform-beds-c46582-a115~128.html
Are you looking to have the bed and headboard match and/or come as one grouping? You can likely find a platform well within your budget and create something cool and fun for the headboard. Many of your questions are related to taste and style which only you will be able to answer, based on your needs, wants, and likes. Do some image searching around the internet, on Hometalk, on Pinterest, and that will help you narrow your ideas. Use pieces of craft paper stuck on the wall to determine what sizes/shapes work.
There would be a lot available in amazon.
Hi, Why not make a base for your bed from old Pallets and then buy a bed without legs or take the legs off and then sit it on top of the pallets?.
How big is your room ?
