The hole was cut too big for the base of the light in kitchen. Need ideas on how to make it go away!😆 House is cabin style.

One way to cover is with a ceiling medallion.

I never thought of that! I wonder if I could make one out of wood, and then use a router on the outter edges?

  Yes you can make one out of wood and route the edge. Just make sure you use a thin enough wood so you still can mount the fixture. You can even buy a wood blank at Hobby Lobby or Michael's and cut a hole in it for the wiring and mounting screws. Which ever is easier and convenient.
