Here is some info for you. You can also put on a sealer on the wood top to keep it protected - Home Depot and Lowes carry sealers for wood tables

You have an opportunity to really make this a statement piece.

If it was me I would paint the table by adding a pattern on the top.

Masonry paint is the best paint to use on concrete, because it allows moisture to pass through its surface. Other paints, such as latex, are not suitable for use on concrete, especially if it is used outside. Latex creates a barrier to moisture, so when used on concrete, it tends to trap water underneath the surface, leading peeling. Using masonry paint reduces this risk.

To prep the area just sand, wash the surface, prime and then use masonry paint is best for durability and will last you for years, as long as you have properly prepared the surface first. For an easier application, use paint brushes for small corners and paint rollers to quickly paint over flat surfaces, such as a table top or seats. Purchase high-quality brushes for even finishes and to avoid brush strokes. Cheap paint rollers and brushes tend to fall apart easily and do not hold as much paint. Let the paint fully dry before adding additional coats.

The fun part is deciding what pattern to paint on the table top. It would sort of be like painting a rug on a cement floor just on a much smaller scale and here is a basic idea but you can paint whatever you want.

Just remember to seal the table top after you add a design.

  • try a sealer for outdoor decks and patios

You can check what the warranty is and if there is a remedy. It looks like something similar to Contact paper peeling. You may find Contact paper with a similar wood pattern and patch what has peeled off. The parts that are peeling can be glued back on with E6000 glue. Placing a cloth over the peeling parts and Ironing with a medium heat iron may reacativate the glue. Only other solution would be to remove all the "Contact" paper and paunt the concrete with a faux woodgrain finish or just a solid color.

I would sand down the flakes, and then seal it with Spar Marine Varnish. It is made for boats so it is weather proof.

  • Hmmm. That's a tough one. I agree with William and would start by reaching out to Mayfair and then the manufacturer. If you don't get anywhere with either, then I would try to sand down the areas and use concrete paint to fill those areas. If you're artistic, you could try to match the pattern. If not, you could just paint the entire surface one color or in pattern. They also sell wood grain stencils. Concrete paints are made in tintable colors and they last, I've used them with great success, however, I would use a sealer.

Hi Christy: I'd write to Wayfair and tell them what's going on with your table. They may have a fix for you, or a replacement. Good luck

Agree inquiring at your manufacturer. Our Costco metal patio furniture table finish failed and we were shipped a new top.

    Hello there,

You say peeling off, could you stick it back down again, or are you saying the finish is disintegrating ( paint peel). If that is the case then you have to rub the loose away and try to reproduce the look with paint eg: apply undercoat of colour and then use a graining tool. Otherwise, cover with something like Contact or just re-paint and start again........Best of luck.

  • Sand the old surface off and add new sealer.

Do you want to keep that look?

It looks like the top might be made of Hardy Planks which has a concrete type center and a fiber coating on the outside. HP is often used as home siding because it is almost indestructible. It can be painted with exterior li latex. Google 'repair hardy plank siding'. Hopefully it is covered by warranty!

We've had issues with Wayfair stuff, also. Maybe you can scrap that off and paint it?

I would paint it with a paint safe for outdoors. Prime it first then paint it either a wood color or a bright fun color.
