How about timber covered in mosaic tiles or broken china or Contact........?

You could always replace it with new glass or wood. Be sure to seal the wood for outdoors - marine varnish would be best.

If you want to replace with something other than glass, you could use wood, also add tile to the top for a nice finish that is something a bit different.

You can have a circle of plywood cut to the appropriate size OR measure planks to different linksand place in the metal frame for a "ship-lap" look.

Another vote for a wooden table top but seal it well.

Wood top would be the cheapest. Painted, stained, seal with Helmsman Spar Urethane for a weatherproof finish.
