Hi Nancy with a sink you can go underneath and remove and then clean out the trap. Here's a tutorial https://www.plumbingsupply.com/how-to-clean-a-sink-trap.html
I use a plastic drain snake for hair. It can be gross, but it works fairly well. https://amzn.to/2rYjgCh
Hi Nancy. Start by trying to remove that plugged drain with a plunger. Give it several good pulls and then pour very hot water in the drain. Continue this process until you free the clog. If this does not work for you, you can remove hair and soap from a drain with a drain snake. It is a long slender flexible auger that has notches carved down the length of it. You push it down the drain until you feel resistance from the clog. You can push and turn it hoping to either catch a piece of the clog and pull it up piece by piece, or push the clog down the drain completely. Good luck Nancy and Happy Holidays.
Pour vinegar and baking soda a few times and let it sit awhile then flush with very hot water a few times will not hurt your pipes continue until you plunge and the water goes down easily
Open the bottom to check for other items that might be stuck I do this always and keep my drains open no dangerous chemicals and safe for the pipes repeat several times if the buildup is big it will take several applications but it will work hopethis helps
The make small plastic snakes for cleaning out drains. Check on Amazon.
Amazon sells plastic drain sticks that have barbs on them. You just wiggle them down the holes in the drain cover and you will be grossed out by all the rotting stinking hair that comes out. Best part is that I got a 3 pack for under $10.
There is a plastic strip with hooks that you can buy at the hardware store to remove hair.
You can do the plastic hooks, and hopefully get good results. If they don't work, get a chemical drain cleaner, such as Drano thet will dissolve the clog.
