Windes does a great job on tiles.
Gigi, you wash your walls after painting, just like you would the tile before painting it. We did ours about 12 years ago (was pink, now white) and looks great. Just be sure you get the primer you need before painting the final coat. We got our information and paint from Lowes.
Hi Gigi, you can paint this, or pick up a faux tile panel to put over the old tiles.

You will have to put a new subflooring down before new tile. Your floor will be extremely heavy. Your best bet is to bust up the old tile and then lay the new ones.
