Upcycle a Cigar Box Into a Keepsake

I try to recycle in my crafting whenever possible, but when a recycle turns into an upcycle, sometimes the results can be unbelievable.
Using Graphic 45 paper, I am able to transform an empty cigar box into a memory box which is not only beautiful, but functional.
I adhere the paper to the box using Mod Podge and distress the box using Walnut Stain distressing ink to give the box an aged look. I am going for a vintage look, so the imperfections are welcomed.
I embellished the outside of the box using lace, paper flowers, printables from VectoriaDesigns and Metal objects from Tim Holtz's ideaology collection.
The transformation of this box is truly a Cinderella story.

I have been wanting to do this for Years!
Nearly 20!
Amazing the boxes are still in good condition.
They were my dads, and he’s been gone since 2004.
I have also been saving memories of my grandchildren to do something similar.
I need to do it.
