They make great shoe holders or toy holders if you cover them or paint them for a play room or rumpus room in the house. They also make great stackable toys for a play room if covered with contact paper to add to their eye appeal. Some people store crafts like beads or glue sticks in them in bulk for their craft room. They could also stand on a shelf in a pantry to keep valuables to hide them in plain sight if you have strangers or unsavery distant relatives coming through on their vacations, etc. We had a distant (4th?) cousin we had never met that visited and used the restroom while we just stayed in the living room. She went through bedroom drawers and lifted items when out of sight! Mom hid valuables "in plain sight" with an oatmeal container high on a shelf. (she was tall but most relatives were not). Just a few ideas.
These are such great ideas! Can't wait to see what you do!
