Hi Teri,
You could stick base and Lid together and use them as wheels for toys, or you could turn them into a Wall display by making a hook through the back for hanging and painting or covering with fabric or Photo's. Have fun!

This is a pretty idea: https://www.oursouthernhomesc.com/thrift-store-cheese-box-caddy-makeover/
Hi! I've seen them mounted on the wall like shelves. Personally, I think they make great storage for crafts and sewing! Good luck and stay safe!
Maybe a cute toy storage box, painted and glue a realistic Bow attached to the top. Or depending on size, place hand towel, washcloth, soap etc.. decorated in guest bedroom theme. If large, a kitty would love to jump into this, given it has a fluffy pillow to snuggle on. Place for extra blanket, bedding. Great for making a lovely Fall/Thanksgiving arrangement. For use in garage, paint a solid color, top and bottom, and label "Rags". Keep in hall closet that contains scarves, gloves, mittens, ear muff, and caps. If sanded and covered w/ material, I would keep my workout leggings, tops, each rolled and it's match placed together, and continue the rolled match ups. Right now, I am misusing my "not big enough closet shelves w/ plastic bins. Instead, this crate could easily be slid under bed. That's all that comes to mind, but I love making a "nothing" into something well used AND FREE. Would love to see what you come up with.
I think they would make great storage above the closet shelf. Another idea would be for gifts. Spray paint or decoupage.
I LOVE this for the lids!!! For the base - you could also had those on the walls in a rustic style bathroom and roll up wash clothes to place inside! http://madeinaday.com/2015/09/09/diy-round-shelf-from-a-cheese-box/
