Here are some neat ideas. Do you have a recycling center that will take them? Or perhaps an animal shelter that could use some? Thank you for thinking of the environment :)
Take them to a recycle center
You can melt them together to make unique bags. Layer the bags, put a cloth on top then iron on top quickly. Use to cut into squares. Providing they aren't to thick, You can sew them together on a sewing machine.
Use to make a decorative wreath. Use a wire coat hanger bent into a round. Cut up the bags into strips, single tie them to the hanger and keep going until they are bunched up. Add baubles to the middle.
AS I WAS A LITTLE GIRL, MY NEIGHOR HAD MADE A HAT FOR ME. SHE USED BREAD WRAPPERS CUT IN STRIPS AND CROCHET THEM. I DONT HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WIDE THEY WERE OR HOW SHE DID IT BUT IT WAS AWSOME.
My church weaves them into sleep mats for the homeless.

We use a ton in faux finishing and wrapping up our rollers and tools.
If you don't want to do a craft project ….. every WalMart has a large recycle container at their entrances for the plastic bags. I put them all in one bag, when it gets fully just tie it up and toss in on the way in. If you don't use WalMart, still easy to drive by and have someone jump out and toss them in. I personally will be glad when they stop using them altogether.
