Planting carrots

I would like to know how deep a pot should be for growing carrots?

I would stick to plants that grow their bounty above the ground - leafy veg not root vegies in pots. They need a lot of nutrients and room to grow down. A raised garden bed if you can manage it would be better. Tomatoes might also be better for pots.

at least a foot or more. if they cannot grow down enough they get all snarly and crooked. still taste good just look funny. so you will need lots of big deep pots for any kind of harvest but it is a good learning idea for kids and or just for kicks.

There are types of carrots that are shorter than others. Chantenay are short & chubby. My cousin is growing them in cut off clear 2 liter bottles so her boys can see them growing. :-)
