I found this coffee table at an estate sale last summer and fell in love with the legs and the bottom shelf. I currently have a vintage truck for a coffee table, so I was looking for something more practical and this fit the bill.
I was inspired by some grain sack fabric I recently purchased and decided this table should have some grain sack inspired stripes.
I started with Country Grey Chalk Paint™ decorative paint by Annie Sloan for the base coat. Then I taped off some stripes and painted the whole table with two coats of Graphite Chalk Paint™.
Once the table was dry I took some 120 grit sandpaper and distressed and smoothed out the table finish. I then sealed the paint with clear wax and It was ready for some pictures.

Here are some before pictures of the table. What you can't see are the scratches and knicks all over the table. It was perfect for painting. Not an antique, just vintage. It was a bit boring before.
Here's the first coat of paint Country Grey
After I taped off the stripes and painted the whole table in two coats of Graphite
Here's the finished table.
