Kitchen Cabinet Redo
by

Through my sister I met a wonderful couple who had heard of my work/projects/hobby. They asked me to update their kitchen cabinets. I used a Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations kit in Gunstock with black glaze. I love the transformation. They had a BEAUTIFUL kitchen to begin with, but NOW!!.... take a look.
Enjoyed the project?

Robyn Farwell on Sep 20, 2013Tonya - Absolutely beautiful. I have 3-4 coats of paints on my cabinets? I want to get rid of the "painted" cabinets, and stain them. Did you originally have pain on them? Also, did you have the granite countertops put in, or did you do the Rustoleum Countertop kit?

Tonya Miller Dean on Sep 23, 2013Robyn the cabinets did not have paint on them. They were the standard builder grade oak cabinets. The homeowner had the countertops done. I believe they are granite composite??, but I'm not 100% sure on that. My sister-in-law has done the countertop kit though on an old Formica countertop (white with green "veins" through it). She said it is a lengthy process, but they turned out beautifully and it has held up wonderfully. They did them 2 yrs ago.

Karen Klager on Sep 21, 2013@Robyn--I'm pretty sure it's the original cabinet. I can take my fingernail & scrape some of the finish off. It's really ugly & cheap looking, & we can't afford to buy a 48" new vanity. And my countertop is equally ugly. It's all in one piece, sink included. Would the granite-look Rustoleum work on a sink? And as you can tell, I haven't done my vanity yet. I tried to get it done last winter, but too many things came up.
