How I Weathered Fence Panels

I use weathered fence boards for projects, and Etsy signs. I'm running low on this particular style of fence, so I picked up some damaged panels that were reduced and decided to try to speed up the weathering process.
You can definitely see which panel I started with! Because I wasn't sure if this was going to work, I started with just one of my 6 new panels.
The process was really simple. I dissolved about 1/2 of a LARGE box of baking soda in my 1 gallon Deck Pro sprayer from Homeright using warm water.
Because I wanted a pretty heavy dose of water and baking soda I didn't use either of the spray tip nozzles that come with the sprayer. I just used the wand to dispense the solution.
The darker fence panel was after two applications, allowing the sun to dry it out for about 36 hours. It's not as "gray" as I need it, but I'm really hopeful that it's well on it's way to naturally weathering over the next few months.
