This piece was hanging around in my garage for quite awhile now...I knew it needed something but wasn't sure what. I decided to pull out my
Choices, choices, choices! I was originally going to go for the red, white and blue theme. But how to achieve it was my challenge. I decided to go with white on top of the red. I just used a chip brush to apply the stain.
I let the White Ning dry and then used a black sponge brush to apply a coat of MM Crackle. I let that dry overnight. I applied a layer of Blue Thunder over the White Ning and MM crackle. (I forgot to take a picture after the blue thunder was applied ) While the Blue Thunder was still wet I took a spray bottle of water and sprayed the star and it began to work some crackle magic!
After that dried over night I applied 3 coats of lacquer and she is shinning bright!
It's hard to see in the pictures but there is a slight red here and there popping out. Not as much as I originally wanted but one thing I have learned in my short time trying to create art is that "there are mistakes in art just happy accidents" I love how she turned out!
Enjoyed the project?
