Home Theater Reveal

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this here or not. I just don't see any other theater rooms. So, I am not sure if there just is not any interest, or if it is an untapped area. But I finally decided that I would at least post a few before and after images. I figured if anyone likes it, great. If not, well.... I guess I can live with that. :-)
A bit of information that I haven't shared with anyone about how this room came to be. (other than what is stated on my blog). I have twins, one of which is autistic. We made the decision to build this home, based mostly on that fact.
See, he is non verbal and has quite a few sensory disorders. He also functions socially at a toddler level. (meaning he does things that a 2 year old would do - run naked through the house, squeal when excited, etc.) but he is 12 now. Needless to say, I often attract quite a few stares. But, I have learned to live with. (it's the occasional nasty comments that send me over the edge). ;-)
Anyway, like most 12 year olds, he loves the movie theater. Unfortunately, the squeals and excitement that he displays doesn't go over so well with other people trying to enjoy the show. And I don't blame them. I don't like to hear noise when I pay for a ticket, either.
So, when designing this house, I designed it with him in mind. This home theater, while quite the show piece for my "typical" twin, was in fact created to allow my "autistic" twin a chance to enjoy the theater experience.
On a side note - I have come to loathe Laurie Berkner videos. ;-) (if you don't know what I mean, just watch some of her on youtube. Then imagine hours of that over and over on a huge screen with theater sound.)
To see the actual article explaining the process, see http://www.queenbeeofhoneydos.com/home-theater-reveal/

Lighted movie box that I made per the request of my other son.
Concession/candy stand - also requested by my son. (I think I spoil these kids too much).
Before of the attic. That(beyond the doorway) is my craft room that many of you have seen part of in my Wall Storage post. I decided to finish out both at the same time. You can just see part of the built in shelves along that wall, which I have not revealed to any one as of yet.
Screen area with wires still hanging out of the wall. (same doorway to craft room) Concession is just to the left.
You can see the columns that have been added around the room here. I wanted this to look like an actual theater room.
Well, this a panoramic image. Hopefully, when you click to expand, it will show the whole image.
Same area - panoramic view -

Hazel Adams on Apr 06, 2016I really like how you have movie posters and a popcorn machine for your home theater. I think that that it adds a great touch to the home theater feel. I want to do something similar with my basement. http://www.goodguystv.com/Television_Repair_Home_Theater_Installation_Penndel_PA.html

Andre Beluchi on Apr 20, 2016Rachel, that home theater that you had built in that room looks amazing. So, who was the architect or planner in building a room like that? Their work sure is impressive that it has me thinking about building a theater in my home. http://reddspacegroup.com/services.html
