DIY Chalkboard Banner - From Wood Slices

I love any decor that can span across a couple of holidays, and I think this wood slice banner works perfectly for both the fall and winter seasons.
Here's the banner ready for Christmas!
You could easily use any logs or large branches found in your yard or neighborhood. I used birch logs because I love the look of the bark when it is sliced. I recently wrote a post about the best place to find birch logs.
After drying out the discs, painting them with chalkboard paint, and drilling a hole into the top, I threaded a jute cord through each piece,
tied it in a knot above the hole, and then shipped off the loop above the knot.
You can find all the details on my blog, including my suggestions for drying out the wood and where I bought the birch wood.
