Utilise an old sweater to create a fun mug cozy. With Christmas around the corner you can always use the rest of the former sweater to make a christmas stocking.
Make it your own by adding a pesonal printed sentiment. You can adapt the sentiment to suit the person you are giving the mug cozy to. Start by felting your old sweater (use a 100% wool sweater marked as hand wash - wash in your machine on your hottest setting to felt).
Create a paper template for your mug. TIP - use a mug with straight sides
Blanket stitch around your felt. A contrasting thread adds detail pleasing to the eye.
Print your phrase/sentiment onto a contrasting fabric such as calico - don't forget to place your letters backwards on the stamping block so they print the correct way!!
Adhere the calico to the mug cozy, I used bondaweb. TIP - think about placement in relation to the handle and the mug cozy
