Don't Fence Me In: Using Garden Fences as Decor!

We've all heard 'do what you love' - well, I USE what I love! Garden fencing is one of my all-time favorite 'materials' to with reclaimed wood...
I had a dozen sections of vintage wood garden fence that I hauled around for TEN YEARS... and I used it in a variety of ways for decorating and retail display. Then my (late) husband transformed it into an awning, and I used that for over five MORE years! Today my blog post shows off that awning (used in our antique store & show booths as well as in our own store) and a few other ways to utilize wood fencing. From signs to wall art to furniture, the possibilities are unlimited.
PS: I've found that Craigslist is an excellent resource for fences - just search the 'free' section for building materials and garden supplies, and you're sure to find someone trying to get rid of their old fencing! The sections that became the awning were found roadside on a country lane. Another set was found in an alley behind my daughter's neighbor's house! Both FREE!

Elizabeth Sagarminaga on Aug 07, 2015Thanks for great ideas to décor your garden fence. Garden fence can add color to your garden if you well dress it. You can get a luxury fence by spending a lot of money, or you can also dress it with the material around your home. You can make your garden fence more stunning with a fresh coat of paint that would easily enhance the beauty of your yard and can protect your plants from wild animals. Nice share.
