Dark Outdated Space to Fresh, Tribal Nursery

What should have been a very straightforward, "paint and update" type of project ended up taking twice as long than originally predicted. Either way, I am super thrilled my second son will now have a fresh, updated space of his own when he makes his arrival into the world this April.
For the design direction of this nursery, I wanted to exude a fresh, more modern take on rustic, masculine decor. I took more of a "tribal" approach to the typical "rustic" scheme.
Here is what the room looked like when we first moved in our 1980's fixer upper. Between the popcorn ceilings, dark beige paint on the walls and dingy trim and ceiling paint (which was painted with a color named "Cinnamon Roll"), this space was anything but light and fresh. It took a good week or so to remove all of the popcorn, and clean up the mess. Unfortunately, who ever did the original sheet-rock job on the ceiling, did a horrible patch work . So , this endeavor took us much longer than planned...and we had to patch some holes in the ceiling.
Here is what the space looks like after painting the walls, scraping the ceilings, installing a light fixture and painting the doors, ceiling and trim in an "ultra-white". To find out what color we painted the walls, please visit the full post on my site.
Never underestimate the power of white trim.....it can completely transform a room and change the hue of paint colors on the wall. It truly made such a difference with the "brightness" of this room.
I also changed the hardware of the closet door with some turquoise stone "pulls" I found at Hobby Lobby. If you cannot tell, Turquoise is my favorite color of all time. Of course I had to incorporate it into the design of the nursery!
I love how the decor and color palette I used for my baby boy;s nursery will be neutral enough to "grow with him". I did not want something so specifically "baby" that I would have to re-do this space within a year or two.
