St. Patrick's Leprechaun Trap
I had to share this adorable St. Patrick's Leprechaun trap my son and I made. This was for a class project on simple machines. It was a great learning experience for the both of us, because it took us a little bit for it to properly work.
It’s a pulley system that’s anchored from the door, up and over the structure tied to a huge gold nugget. All the gold being the lure for the Leprechaun.
We upcycled and reused all of the parts for this Leprechaun trap.
We cut even wood squares for the structure, along with the base and a door and screwed them together. The door is mounted to the top with a hinge.
String is attached to the door with a small eyebolt. The string runs up and over the pulley (an empty wire spool) and down through a drilled hole. Finally tied around a rock painted gold.
The pot o’ gold is made from a tiny plastic pumpkin container.
