Old Picket Fence Planter

Here I created a unique planter box for my front porch using a piece of old white weathered picket fence. I cut the 5 pieces so they were not all the same height and re-positioned them in a pleasing way. I wanted the piece to look like a garden gate.
Next I attached brackets to hold a basic plastic planter box. I embellished the fence part with a bit of architectural salvage, and attached a strong wire to the back for hanging. I have made man of these throughout the years for customers - no two are ever the same!

Very good idea and incorporated beautifully. After painting the fences this picket fence planter would look even more beautiful. I liked the idea and would love to make one for my garden as well. Thanks again. http://blog.californiafenceco.com/10-diy-tips-for-maintaining-your-fence/

I love yours. I made a similar one but out of smaller picket fences from my kids old play house.
