What Would You Do With an L-shaped Laundry Room?

Help!!! I have this L-shaped laundry room, with a lovely built-in ironing board and the room just doesn't make any sense to me! It's oddly-shaped and nothing seems to be in the right spots. I really want to organize this room in order to accommodate our family. I've thought about building shelves for laundry baskets in the corner and all four of us would have our own basket.
Here's the list of what we did in this room (as if it's really this simple!!!)
1. Removed wallpaper
2. Removed and replaced flooring
3. Filled in holes
4. Changed outlets
5. Painted
6. Transformed the cabinets and built-in ironing board with Rust-Oleum's Cabinet Transformation Kit
7. New curtains, clean windows
I do love the new look of this room, I just wish it flowed better. Any suggestions or comments are welcome!

Pat on Jun 26, 2013I was going to ask how much do you really use the ironing board? Ours is used very little. I would remove the ironing board and put storage along that wall, leaving enough room for the window to have a shade or curtain. You could have clothes baskets in the bottom of your storage unit and to top would be for soaps, softeners, etc. If you put upper and lower cabinets you would have a place to fold clothes.

Rachel @I'llJustPaintIt.com on Jun 26, 2013Thanks, Pat and Linda. I have debated taking that ironing board out, I just never thought about replacing over the door! Seems so simple once it's spelled out for you! That would allow the appropriate space for a shelving unit. That's it! Thanks!
