My friends at Burlap Fabric sent me some beautiful red ticking stripe fabric. I knew the fabric would be perfect for a Christmas DIY! But if you’ve been around for a bit, you know that sewing is something I do not do. It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just that I never learned how so I am so intimidated by it. I hope to learn one day, but today is not that day.So, I started thinking up some ideas for fabric that didn’t require sewing and the thought of a Christmas rag wreath hit me. I remembered that I had some left over drop cloth from my DIY bedskirt, so I grabbed that to add in as well.

If you're looking for a simple way to add a little light to your space, here is the perfect project for you! This would also make a great project to do with your students, kids, grandkids, or girlfriends -- though if you do this project with littles, I would recommend using a different glue than hot glue unless you take over for the cutting and the gluing parts. :) We want to help you DIY, so some of the materials in this post are linked to sellers. Just so you know, Hometalk may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.
I love recycling items to create craft projects! I recently attended a community cookout and managed to collect lots and lots of empty beer and soda cans. It's a great way to repurpose discarded or unwanted items into creating some of my crafting ideas. I've had a couple of projects swirling around in my thoughts - one of which is a candleholder. A candle holder that looks chic and modern but so easy to make! And the best part - you can use it indoors or out!
I wanted a metal wreath for winter. They are expensive! While thinking about how to make one, I finished a soda pop. Then I was inspired to try something. I started washing out and saving a few cans. Seventeen cans.
The project was easier than I expected! Plus I had everything on hand.
I recently made a custom bed and decided I wanted to make a bed skirt that fit the measurements of the bed. I made these to fit a king size bed, which is 19 inches off of the floor. You could easily adjust the size to fit any size bed at any height.
Wrapping twigs is such a quick and simple craft activity I have no idea why I haven’t done it before! It’s perfect for adults and children alike. All you need is odds and ends of yarn and some twigs. It is the perfect project for using up small pieces of yarn.
Tis the season to start thinking about Christmas decor and my mind has been racing with ideas. On a trip to my Dollar Store I spotted three different size pails and I started to pile them on top of each other in the middle of the aisle. Yes I got a few funny glances, but I was too excited to care.I struggled for a brief moment with what I was going to use for the base then it hit me. A lamp base of course. I knew this was going to make a great tree!
Acrylic paint pours are easy to do! You can use whatever colors you like and however many you want too, maybe just two or three or 10! You can also do this to so many different types of materials/objects like furniture, glass, canvas, metal and more! Colorful, easy to create and makes a statement without the price tag !Here are 2 of my latest wall art creations!
I don't know about you, but I love decorating with birch bark and birch branches for Christmas. It is so beautiful and textured; perfect for the neutrals of farmhouse decor and perfect to set off green and red if you like more traditional decor.
