Growing in my yard!

It would be well appreciated if anyone can tell me what this plant is and if I should eliminate from my yard.
Thank you in advance.

Be careful because it really looks like you have poison ivy in your yard.

It's not poison ivy. Looks like the weeds we have growing here. I would dig it up and toss it.
  • It's called Humulus Japonicus or Japanese Hop. Poison if swallowed by pets and the leaves are very prickly to your skin. Can become invasive.

I agree, it is a random, wild vine. Maybe a "present" from birds, that proliferated in the warm weather. I would pull it out before it overcomes the yard.

I agree with Stephanie. Japanese hop. Very invasive. Fast growing & spreading. Pretty but keep it trim & contained or it will take over your garden & yard. Otherwise dig it pup by the roots. Some people maybe allergic to it when touched. Sounds like you have already experienced that reaction. If you keep it, wear gloves & long shirts & pants when you are around it. Good luck.

Not poison ivy. I tend to agree with the Japanese Hops vine or some type of hops vine. According to this link from the Wisconsin DNR, http://dnr.wi.gov/news/weekly/article/?id=266... hops vines grow clockwise. However the Japanese Hops vine grows counter-clockwise. If it is Japanese Hops, it is very invasive and spreads primarily from reseeding (considered an annual). So pull those suckers out. Even if it was not I would probably get rid of it since it is irritating to your skin. If I had to be careful every time I went outside to play in the dirt to not touch it, it would be outa here.
