Katy Battenfield on Feb 17, 2017I'm thinking 3-D art piece, using the depth of the pan for the foreground. Paint/ draw your art, and then add in physical pieces to make it pop! Kids would love that! Thank you so much for sharing!

Would be a great way to display your child's/grandchild's "artwork"! Most parents/grandparents @ some pt. display various items created by their children/grandchildren in one way or another, whether an actual drawing, hand/footprints or those made into various shapes or w/various messages, 1st time writing their names (or anything!), finger-paint/coloring art, school projects, stories, or awards, hand-made greeting cards, even a simple "I love you" or "Happy birthday" message in the child's precious writing (Lest they want to deal with the awful crying that comes w/discarding something they worked so hard on!)! In the long-term, you could always scan in these special keepsakes & make into a bound photobook w/captions, descriptions, dates, comments about each one, & have a completed book published by co. such as Shutterfly or My Publisher, etc. (completed books make great gifts for long-distance relatives, special friends/family, etc., as well as preserving those special memories/ accomplishments!). In the short-term, keeping w/this project, however, you could scan the "art" in a computer (thus not destroying the orig., if you don't want to risk that), then print it out & apply to the insert, & insert in the "pan frame"-makes a much nicer display than the never-ending barage of work stuck on the frig. w/magnets, fighting for it's rightful place over older items! If you use foam board & can cut it to a size that will stay put without having to glue it in, or use something simple to attach it inside like attachable velcro pieces, you could easily remove/change the artwork any time you like, always featuring the latest accomplishments or having season-appropriate decor! Lots of ways to reuse!
