I utterly transformed my cabinets by spending $50's on crown molding. To date I have painted, added hardware and now Crown Molding to make these 20 years old cabinets look Brand New!!!
$50's of materials and these cabinets look so sophisticated.
The Original Kitchen...I painted, added hardware, and now crown molding to transform these dated cabinets...circa 1980!
Another shot of the new crown molding
STEP 1: Draw a map of your cabinets and note: - Desired Length of Molding - Note Inside or Outside corner (outside is when the walls go away from you / inside is when they go towards you) - Angle of Corners (most will be 90)
STEP 2: Cut molding according to your cut list
Step 4: Glue, Nail Tape.once cutting complete double checked pieces....use construction adhesive to secure
Make sure you are level and all squared away to ensure perfection :)
Nail. The corners will sag a bit from the wight of the wood.
STEP 5: Prevent Sagging by gripping the corners tightly in place and using tape to keep them tightly bound
Check out the BEFORE and AFTER. Looks so dang good!
Another BEFORE and AFTER angle. Boom! gotta love the added drama!

Beautiful job! What color paint did you use to paint the cabinets?

It definitely looks nicer, and we bought a home with this already being done. What I'm wondering is, instead of doing this, is to extend the cabinets or add on to them so that they reach the ceiling. So much wasted space and a great gathering place for cooking dust (gross). Any ideas?

Where did you get the cabinet hardware? Also what color are the cabinets? Awesome job. The pulls would accommodate different heights of people, really like it.

Looks great and I hope that we can add more heigh to our cabinets making them go to the ceiling and then add crown molding. The top of the cabinets have grease on them despite my spending a lot of time and elbow grease trying to clean them. Thanks for sharing your project!!
