I acquired these rusty rings from my cousin. Not quite sure what to do with them at the time.
I decided to make a hanging light out of one.
I bought a huge spool of twine, a hanging light kit and grabbed a 1/2"X 4" board out of my left over wood supply.
Here's my finished product. Kind of Boho I think.

I think the rings are barrel stays, they went around the outside of a barrel to hold it together

I have these and was thinking about making a hanging pot rack in the kitchen. Anyone got a good idea how to do this ?

Love the way it came out!

I would drill 4 holes equal distance apart in the ring to accommodate chains for hanging, don't use S hooks to secure the chain to the ring and the ceiling. The weight of the pots could slowly stretch the hooks and all could crash down. ( it happened to a friend of mine. ) use a locking ring instead, then hang your pots with S hooks around the ring. What a great idea. Good luck and post your pics, I'd love to see your project.
