What kind of centerpieces do you love?

You did good anytime you use nature it is success. And can change out with the seasons or holidays.

I was at an anniversary party recently. They took empty wine bottles and spray painted them gold and then added some tree branches. So simple but elegant. Wished I had taken a photo.

I was at a Christmas party at a banquet hall often used for weddings. They had elegant, tall cylindrical vases with spray painted branches and battery-operated white lights. The bottom of the vase was wrapped with a type of sparkly diamond/rhinestone-look removeable collar...It could even be done with stickers, I suppose. They were simple, you could see through them, and they could be easily re-adapted.

I've been thinking of a turntable on which I could combine aesthetics with salt, pepper, etc.

I did all of the centerpieces for my daughter's wedding in 2014 - using fresh flowers in shades of pink, candles and milk glass. Very simple, but elegant (and inexpensive to buy loose flowers) - I started collecting milk glass about a year before the wedding to use and buying it at thrift stores.

They look nice. At my Christmas wedding (several decades ago!) we used rattan paper plate holders as the base, with greenery and pine cones from the yard tied together with a red/green plaid taffeta ribbon and a pillar candle in the center. Everything could be sourced today at the dollar store and they didn't look cheap at all.

I came back on because I saw a tv show today with homemade centrepieces. They used tall cylindrical vases, rolled a piece of cellophane (the type used to wrap gift baskets), crinkled it and inserted it into the vase. They then filled the vase with cold water to the top. It gave a cracked ice effect. They then topped each vase with a floral arrangement. They put the vase on a touch light. This would be so cheap to make, and it was beautiful.
