For a bit of a different Valentine's project- Last year I helped a friend redo her home gym using metal as a Valentine's Day present for her husband.
Her husband loved to work out but the home gym lacked personality and she was worried the bag would damage the walls.
She wanted the space to be more personal for him too since he spends a lot of time there.
I mounted his old jerseys in frames and made a wall mount for the hockey sticks and bat.
I used 4x8 sheets of aluminum from the HVAC store to line the walls around the punching bag. I attached them with sheet metal screws to the studs. I stained small trim strips to look like reclaimed wood to hide the edges and made a shelf for
The wall now has more of a personal feel. My blog post will give you all the details on the wall rack (you'll never believe what I used to make that!)
I used trim strips stained to look like reclaimed wood to cover the top edges and a metal edge strip on the outside corner. I made a shelf to hold the boxing gloves and his weight belt. He was completely surprised and absolutely loves it! Head over to my blog post for all the details on how I made the rack and shelf (both as SUPER easy)
Enjoyed the project?
