DIY Wood Burned Cutting Board

I used a wood burning tool to create this incredibly simple (but so pretty!) DIY wood burned cutting board. I used a cutting board that I already had lying around the house, and the whole thing took less than an hour from start to finish! There are also a ton of other easy and affordable DIY projects on my blog!
Start off by choosing what you want the board to say. I typed the word "Chop" in several different fonts, then used the "text effects" tool in Word to flip the text around so that it's backwards. Print it off, and cut the paper into a size that's easy to work with.
Grab a pen, lay the paper printed-side-down on the board where you want the words to be, and trace the letters (when you flip the paper over, it'll be facing the right way, and you can see the shadow of the text). You should be writing on the back of the paper, and it'll leave a faint outline for you to use the woodburning tool on.
Grab your woodburning tool (Heres an affiliate link for the one I used) and use it to trace the letters. You may need to go over each letter a couple of times to get it dark enough.
And that's all there is to it! If you don't have an extra cutting board hanging around, it's pretty easy to make your own. This could also be done on picture frames, serving trays, or any other wood piece!
Enjoyed the project?
