I use white toothpaste (not gel), a damp tooth brush on jewelry, brass, copper, porcelain I sell on Ebay. Silver polishes and dips tend to remove some of the metal, like Tarn X. Also polishes gem stones and makes them shine. White toothpaste has fine powdered marble in it. Works on teeth!
thanks darlin i will xxx
I also use white toothpaste. Just brush the silverware as if brushing my teeth. Good luck

I know this will sound strange, but I always use a citrus based oil, Old English Furniture Polish Lemon Oil and a microfiber cloth. It keeps from scratching the item and dissolves the tarnish. (a bit of elbow grease too.) Per OZ its cheaper than most other cleaners designed for cleaning silver. Use it for removing labels or stuck on gunk on a counter, removing baked on oil on pots and pans, etc. Just wash with soap & water afterward.
can i use lemon essential oil please thanks for informatin dear
I soak it in a bowl of vinegar and baking soda, but the main thing is a piece of tin foil the size of your bowl or dish your using . Works every time
For brass I use tomato sauce paint on let stand for a time rinse dry and buff with soft cloth.
Baking soda & hot water in a baking pan lined with aluminum foil. Works really well! http://www.feathersinthewoods.com/2013/04/cleaning-silver-jewelry-without.html

These are many ways to clean your silver, try one of these:
No more tarnishing with aluminum
Boil 4 cups of water, a tablespoon of baking soda, and some aluminum foil. Place silverware in for 10 seconds then remove with kitchen tongs.
Ketchup isn’t just for eating
Tarnished silver can be polished with ketchup using a paper towel – for silver that has crevices, use a toothbrush.
Kill two birds with one stone
When using Windex to clean your windows, spray some on a rag and use it to scrub your silver.
Brush your silver with toothpaste
Use circular motions to brush non-gel and non-abrasive toothpaste onto silver. Leave on for five minutes before washing off with water.
Use soda for tarnished silver
Fill a plastic bowl with lemon-lime soda and place slightly tarnished silver in it for one hour. Rinse and dry with a paper towel.
