Hiding a Dime Bank in Plain Site

With a little work, you can make everyday food stores look like things no thief would think to steal. Here is one I did recently and a couple from a few years back.
After a squeeze top mayo jar is empty, wash out very good and let completely dry.
Pour white paint inside and move it around so it's coated the inside with no "holidays" (spots a painter missed) at all. This is crucial to your project.
Looks like mayonnaise doesn't it?
Stand on it's top, letting any excess paint drain into the cap. Remove cap and wash out, letting the paint inside dry. This might take days so be prepared to work on other things.
This shot shows you that you can use the cap to insert dimes. Unless you make it bigger, that is the only size coin that works.
Now I have a dime bank in my kitchen and no one is the wiser.
This is one I posted a while back. Can you spot the bank? If you open a can of soup or veggies on either end, you can put your cash, jewelry, etc. inside. Then, you just open a larger can of fruit or stew at the bottom and set it over it. You can not tell there is anything but a can of food in your cupboard.
This is a shot of the bank in my food cupboards. Looks pretty normal, huh?

Large sums of $$ I'd lift a corner of carpet in bedroom with lil effort, you can stash lots of cash and nobody is the wiser 🤑😎

Lovebeingnana on May 26, 2017Just make sure someone in your family knows it's there. No one wants anything to happen to someone, but one never knows and you certainly wouldn't want your family to sell your house after your are gone with money under the rug!

Have a question about this project?
If you take the lid off each time you can use quarters!! ($0.25 for those from other countries). You would have a lot more money in your jar!!
I don't mean to be morbid....but, the one thing I would like to remind everyone, please tell a trusted family member or write down where you are hiding things (money, jewelry, passwords, etc.)....in case you die and your family throws stuff out without knowing there are valuables hidden.
what if its family your hiding it from?
