Gift Dish Set - Option 1

Mother's Day is coming up - you can make this plate and glass set for just a few dollars and give mom handmade gift.

You'll need a tub with water
A clear glass plate
A clear glass
Nail polish
rubber gloves
Skewer/toothpick

Beforehand - Prep your plate & glass - make sure it's clean and wipe with alcohol before starting.
Put a couple drops of nail polish in your water. Make sure the nail polish disperses like you see the pink doing in this picture.

If it does not like the gray in this picture - don't use it as it will not work for this project.

Dip your glass into the water and nail polish solution. You'll need to move quickly as the nail polish dries fast in the water.

Use the skewer/toothpick to clean out the extra nail polish so you can start on the next dish. Or you can just dump out the old water and start new.
Again, add a couple drops of nail polish to the water and dip the bottom of your plate into the nail polish.

*Only the bottom so you can eat off the top of the plate.
Let dry completely.
*Optional - you can spray the painted part only with an acrylic sealer if desired. Remember to tape off the top of the glass before doing so.

Dishes are hand wash only.

I'll be making this and more gifts for Mother's Day on Tuesday, May 2nd at 7pm EST on Live Hometalk's Facebook page.

Very nice idea. Might have my grandson make them for his mom and dad

I have a complete set of plain clear glasses. I’m definitely doing this in red to match my kitchen. Then I can put them in the open cabinets with the red/white plates. Love it.
