I have Geraniums, Petunias, Gerbera Daisies and Marigolds on my porch and front flowerbeds. The sun beats down on them all day. Be sure to water often

Succulents . I have a black thumb and even I can grow them in full sun in the deep South .
Hibiscus. Its really a bush though. But it flowers nice. And you could get a small one and keep it trimmed.

BTW, I'm in zone 9
