I planted Knockout roses 13 yrs. ago and failed to read the instructions so naturally I deadheaded them to get more blooms and have had some great roses every year. My sister just got a Knockout rose and said you don't deadhead them. I think the old blooms look ugly so I do it anyway and get a lot of new blooms all summer long. You choose for yourself.
I deadhead them all the time and get blooms all year round (I live in Arizona).
I am a deadheader and so is my girlfriend in NC and ours always look wonderful. Here is a link for you.

I have started collecting the rosehips...says you can open these up and get seeds to grow MORE of what you love or gift them...
Sure, you can do that, it is ok
It's ok, but with Knockout Roses it's not necessary.
its ok to do it.. I hate the look if I don't do it
The wonderful thing about Knock Out roses is that it's not necessary, but I'm with Wanda, I don't like the ragged look if I don't do it. Things will be fine if you don't.
