I purchased this Bombay chest because of it's gorgeous curves - I had watched a tutorial on color blending and I then I knew, THAT was what I wanted to do! Now, to find the right color mix....
I had all of these colors on hand and I really liked the way they looked together.. So, here we go!
I painted the entire piece in the Paris grey - let that dry overnight.
I then applied the colors to a paper plate... and kept a cup of water close. I had two brushes, one dry and one for colors.
I dipped my brush in the water and then into a color and applied it to the surface. And I continued to do so.. never washing the brush.
Then used the dry brush to blend the colors together. Painted the inlay in modern masters metallic warm silver.
I kept the top in more of a striation effect then a cloudy effect.
I washed the hardware and it was gold so i left it like that -
Added an IOD stamp to the drawer sides in Glacial by Wise Owl.
Sealed the piece in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat
Used wise owl's black walnut glaze in the details and sealed again.
