"Little Doggy Stairs" by Kara S. In NJ are my favorite!
Try a ramp, tack or glue a peace of carpet on it.
Here is what I did until I could make something better. (I have a very small dog too) I used boxes that I filled with old books. I used two different sized boxes that I staples old towels to. It worked till I made something else to serve the need. I am still using the newer one I built. I took some old dresser drawers, removed the handles. On the bottom side I covered with fleese fabric I had bought at a rummage sale and turned them so the top section of the drawer was on top with the fabric. What is nice is that I can move them to clean and then put them back again.
Hello Gayle; I made very small steps for my Mothers cat to use. I used shoe boxes. I stacked them, and added glue. I did this, so that the cat would not have to jump and could just climb the boxes.
It worked out very well, and took minimal effort to make, as you are just stacking and gluing.
My Mother and her cat were thrilled!! I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!

Another thought: Get 2 pieces of plywood. Use one to make a ramp up to the bed at angle the dog can handle. Attach the 2nd piece with a flat hinge - this part goes under your mattress and holds the ramp in place.
Staple/glue carpet to the ramp for pup's traction.
Well, you can use a board or a piece of ply wood. I think about three feet long an ten inches wide should do. you`ll have to use your imagination to secure it to your bed. if you don`t have any boards or ply wood ask a friend or go to the hard ware store, like HOME DEPOT or some place like that.
Maybe you can try a pet store for your steps.
