I managed rental properties for 36 years. The problem is not you painting an accent wall. The problem is you not re-painting it the original color before you move out. I would check with management about this. Most will say okay, but if you do not re-paint to their specific original color, they can charge you for double, triple coating the walls.
Hello Alfred; You can do several things to achieve the look that you want.
You can hang a solid color sheet by using Velcro, on the sheet and wall.
You could also purchase a bright piece of fabric, and hang it with Velcro.
You could also purchase or use Pictures, or Photos and group them on the wall by using Command hooks.
I hope that this gives you ideas, and is of help to you!!! Take Care!
There are now peel and stick wallpapers including those that look like reclaimed wood, have texture etc. Merely peel it off when you move.
I just recently got a bunch of great ideas from this forum to cover my wall in a rental. Using sheets turned out to be both cheap and gorgeous! I was still able to hang pictures on the covered wall as well. To get texture on another blank wall, I used wood scraps glued to a headboard length piece of peg board. It's easy to hang because the back still has the holes! Hope you find some ideas you'll love.
I've done all kinds of temp things to my walls, including stapling up stripes of chair webbing. I did an accent wall in candy apple green and white, diagonally. And then I wove about 5 stripes in the opposite direction, in a cobalt and white, so that the crossing was a bit off center for interest. It came out really lively and cute. And an added plus was where the intersections met, I could slide photos into the weave, like a bulletin board.
I've also done the fabric and just used liquid starch to hold it in place. Making sure the I had enough fabric to cover the space and then saturating it in the starch. Then just put it against the wall and smooth it out. Once it is dry it will stay in place until you decide to pull it off.
How about purchasing a very large colorful abstract painting, poster, wall hanging of some sort? All you will need are some picture hooks, but the impact will be huge.
