I have cube storage in room I use for crafting. Room for books, baskets and plastic containers , what ever u want to put in them. Since I had a vacant wall, I stacked one on top of another. Make sure they're safe by anchoring them if u do Another one I put floating shelves above. Got mine at "Big Lots". Cheaper than Walmart.
Floating shelves have a metal bracket screwed into studs of wall or toggle bolts into dry wall with metal rods that protrude fitting into holes along one edge of shelf. Looks like nothing is hiding them up.
Ikea has a multitude of crate storage solutions. But by far the least expensive would be the wooden crates sold in craft stores. I have bolted three together after sanding and painting. Then I added a wood base to screw wheels into, a wood top and a fabric-covered foam cushion. The open side of each crate faces a wall, but I have inserted baskets for storage that doesn't show. Now I have a window seat with storage.
