Do you mean you want to have "faces" for the books therein? What do you mean "cover" Do you want to use the shelves or just cover them up so it looks like there are no shelves?

There is a removable wallpaper from a company called wall pops that makes a really cool looking brick paper. They show an example of doing a bookcase with it that looks really great.
cover as adding doors? Your question is vague
im still a bit confused. Do you want to hide what's on the shelves but have access? Or cover them completely? If you want to have access, then what Rose shared would work. But you could also put material on tension rods (top and bottom) and insert them on each shelf.
Get a nice fabric remnant, use brass thumb tacks all around to adhere and give a finished look.
