Sensible Style: 10 Small Kitchen Tips
Oh, Brenda you need something like the little drawer cabinet I bought at an auction a couple of years ago. I didn't not realize it was a spice cabinet till I saw this on Pinterest. But actually if you have containers that are attractive enough they could be stored elsewhere than in that pantry. If you had place for some shelving (deep enough to only hold one container but long enough or enough shelves to hold all you need) you could have them anywhere as long as they are tightly contained. For instance my little cabinet like this one is in my side hall. I do intend to fill the drawers with cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves etc. etc.
on narrow shelves on back of door -Use Jam or Preserve jars
If your pantry has a door on it, you might purchase an over the door hanger to hold them. It gave me easy access to my needed products in my pantry when I got one. See photo. Door hangers are available at Walmart online, Amazon, Collectible catalogs and more. Many will ship for free and cost $15 to $20 is all. They are worth the cost to save grief!
Try The Container Store or Bed Bath and Beyond.
BTW, buying bulk is great if you use large amounts but I wonder if you're talking about 'bulk' in a grocery store that has bins or containers that allow you to buy just the amount you need, however small that is. This is definitely the best way to buy poppy seeds and fall spices, as well as catnip.
Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions!
