Ever find something at a thrift store and think, "Either this is going to be awful, or, it is going to turn out awesome?" That's how I felt about this little lamp I bought for $8.
It had an awful finish on it. Normally, I like a gold gilded look but this was just grungy looking with dark splotches on it. The first thing I did was spray the whole thing in flat white by Valspar. I took a dark gray paint and watered it down quite a bit. I painted it on in small areas and blotted it off with a wet paper towel to achieve this concrete look.

I bought a burlap shade at Lowe's and now have a lamp I think I will never part with. I love it! To see more of this project head on over to my blog.
