gnat traps. Find a glass jar you can part with...put vinager the apple cider stuff or a piece of fruit in the bottom. Make a funnel from a piece of paper leaving a small opening for the funnel end. They go in, don’t come out.
First if you have any plants inside make sure they are re-potted in fresh soil as fungus gnats lay eggs in the soil. Use bowls of apple cider vinegar, cover with saran wrap and poke small holes in the wrap.

First, eliminate what is attracting them! Compost? Fruit on the counter? Stop giving the gnats/fruit flies food and a place to breed. We had a terrible infestation earlier this year—couldn’t find anyplace in the kitchen that attracted them—then discovered a couple cans of fruit which had swollen and exploded on a basement shelf. A mess to clean up, but we got rid of the source. We put up fly tape; cheap and very sticky ribbons of resin-coated paper that spiral out of a small tube. Not appropriate for a kitchen, but worked well in an out-of -the-way place.
Put dawn liquid & apple cider vinegar in a small dish. Stir & make bubbles. gnats light on the bubble & can't get off.
If it's from indoor pots your soil may be too wet. Let it dry out. Do the above recommendations too.
Fill a bottle with sugar water or something sweet like kero syrup and set it where the ants are. This will draw them in to the sweet mixture, and they die.
I had a terrible gnat problem and the vinegar traps worked perfectly! Simply place a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar, a few drops of dish soap, and a tablespoon of sugar in a bowl and stir. Set your bowl in an area where gnats are prevalent, such as your kitchen or bathroom. This took care of my problem in just a couple of days!
In a small bowl, mix half a cup warm water, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp sugar and a few drops of dish soap. Gnats will be lured in by the sugary mixture, but once they dip in for a drink, the sticky dish soap will trap them.
Hi Larry, hope this helps.

Homemade gnat repellent spray: A mixture of dish soap, water, baking soda, and vinegar can be filled into a spray bottle. The mixture should contain a few drops of dish soap, a tablespoon of vinegar, and baking soda per cup of water. A few sprays of this mixture is an effective gnat repellent.
