Master Bathroom Remodel

We opened up walls and transformed a tiny bathroom into a luxury master suite. This was a Big deal. We had to jackhammer the concrete floor to rearrange plumbing, move the doorway and build our own custom vanity.
We new right away after purchasing this home, we would need to expand the master bathroom. Luckily there were two walk-in closets so we could just eliminate one to enlarge the space.
We did the demo ourselves, but hired a professional plumber to jackhammer the floor and install new plumbing.
This was the entrance to the original bathroom. So tiny for a 3000 sq. ft. house. There was barely room to walk through the door, let alone the bathroom.
Smallest tub ever! And yes, those are dead cockroaches. Creepy and disgusting! We stayed in a hotel for a week to clean up before moving in.

New entrance to the master bath. My hubs built a barn door out of reclaimed barn wood. We acquired the wood from an old cabin we deconstructed in Spirit Lake, Idaho and brought with us to Texas.
We moved the shower to the other side of the room. (Where the closet used to be.)
We custom built the vanity so that it would fit perfectly in the space and still be able to have two sinks. It's actually just 47 inches wide. The mirrors above the sinks were salvaged from a vanity mirror that once hung in the master bedroom. A local glass company cut them down for us free of charge! Sweet!!!
I was really excited about installing this beautiful free-standing tub. We kept the toilet in its original spot. The ladder and stool were purchased at Canton First Monday Trade Days. Such a great resource, and we only live about 45 minutes away!
Hope you were inspired and enjoyed the tour of our bathroom transformation! To see more, I'd love to have you stop by my for a visit. Happy New Year!!!
