If you have a gap, then I would use an expanding insulating foam (available in every home store - comes in a can with an application tube). Choose from a variety of selections - regular expanding, super expanding, waterproof and the like. OR, if there is no significant gap to stick in the tube to make the application, then go with caulk. A good silicone caulk will be flexible enough to withstand changes in temperature and humidity and keep the window sealed. It comes in several colors and clear. Choose what you need and don't forget the applicator gun if you don't have one! cheers!
First caulk then use 3/4 round all around the trim. Will be attractive and stop the draft.
they need to be caulked, or put draft stoppers and window insulation kits on
I bought flex seal! Clear put the window caulk on out side of house and put flex seal on top of that! Inside just went inside windowls and under window trim if there is cracks! Keeps ladybugs out also!
Fix Draft excluder tape - comes on a roll and is self adhesive.....
Shoot expanding foam into the cracks. You may need to remove trim, inside and/or out, then scrape off any excess and caulk.
draperies that cover the windows completely help block drafts too.
Caulk. Consider the plastic window kits to cover the area.
caulk is the best long term solution. Until the weather warms up and you can caulk the outside, weather stripping around the inside window frame works well as does the plastic window kit.
Hi,
Cheap way is push in newspaper into the cracks, or caulk them or add a trim around the window.
