Sure. Buy the hardware and install it above the doorway. Take care that the mounting is placed at the right height...you don’t want too large a gap at the floor. Remove hinges and fill in with wood putty, sand, prime and paint. If your door knob is latched, remove it as well, fill latch holes and putty over as with hinges. You can replace with a pull knob that will cover existing hole. There are also inexpensive pulls that recess into the existing hole. You’ll need two if door is visible from both sides.
Actually, yes! You can buy a latch type of closer. I did this in my last house and was soooo happy with it.
